A Minnesotan by birth, I have also lived in Asia and Europe. I attended Osteopathic Medical school in Des Moines, IA. Osteopathic medical students have additional training in Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment(OMT). OMT involves knowledge of the interconnected body systems to treat the whole person. Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment is hand-on-care. It involves using the hands to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness or injury. Using OMT, a D.O. can move muscles and joints with techniques including stretching, gentle pressure and resistance. I have a special interest in minimally invasive surgery such as laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy.
